Tammet Systems offered an innovative portfolio of edge protection systems alongside fall-arrest and work-zone safety solutions, enabling high-rise construction companies to significantly reduce the risk of injury and serious accidents.

We were engaged to define the brand strategy and develop the supporting branded media and campaigns, elevating the company’s market profile and brand recognition. The objective was to build a new level of market confidence, underpin sales growth, and support broader business development ambitions.

The Challenge
Operating under a legacy name with only foundational marketing in place, the business was not realising its full commercial potential. A comprehensive, ground-up rebuild was required, supported by a clear and robust strategic framework.

Although the leadership team held strong growth ambitions, progress was constrained by a lack of confidence, creative direction, and brand consistency in the marketplace.

Working in close partnership with the founders, and with a clear exit vision in mind, we were given the freedom to shape a strategy that went beyond creative delivery. The focus was on building confidence within the leadership team while laying the foundations for scale-up and value creation.

We began by establishing deep customer alignment, undertaking extensive direct customer insight work. This revealed the values, behaviours, and attributes that resonated both at a corporate level and on a more emotive, personal basis – providing a critical foundation for the brand strategy.

With clarity around short-term objectives and the exit timeline, the complex layers of the brand strategy were developed with precision and creative intent.

A new name
From an initial longlist of over 100 concepts, refined to 10 strong contenders, a final name was selected within two weeks. Vertemax was chosen for its relevance, strength and memorability, with trademark protection secured swiftly.

A new brand world to lead a marketplace established
Inspired by the principles of working at height and maximum protection, a distinctive brand identity and positioning were developed. This was brought to life through a market-leading website and a suite of digital media assets, establishing the platform for a sustained and integrated marketing programme.

A launch with confidence and consistency
With intellectual property protected and the internal team fully aligned, the brand was launched through a coordinated marketing campaign. Consistency across all touchpoints reinforced differentiation and credibility, rapidly driving increased visibility and recognition within the market.

A stronger outcome
As a result of increased reach, stronger brand recognition, and clear marketing traction, the founders received multiple offers for the business. The successful bidder offered a premium of over 20%, explicitly citing the strength of the Vertemax brand and its market momentum as a decisive factor in their valuation and acquisition decision.
